Lan Kwai Fong's signature 2-day Japan Street Carnival returns with new pop-up at California Tower
The two-day signature Lan Kwai Fong Japan carnival is set to bring an extravaganza of Japanese culture, offering authentic Japanese delicacies, beverages, and spectacular entertainment on 10 to 11 November.
This year, Lan Kwai Fong will launch the LKF Cool Japan Pop-up art gallery from 5 to 11 November at California Tower, with LKF Cool Japan â" Japanese Dessert Remix campaign. âArt Toy Japanâ is one of the themes of the pop-up, exhibiting exclusive art toys and sculptures created by renowned artists in collaboration with Asian art platform, APPortfolio.
The pop-up will feature a sculpture that will be launched in Asia the very first time, created by Hajime Soroyama and X-Large the clothing label. All artworks will be available for purchase directly at the pop-up. Visitors can also play crane game to win Japanese sofubi toy and figures.
Meanwhile, the other theme -âDiscover Japanâ will feature a array of brands to demonstrate authentic Japanese culture from 8th November to 11th November, including Kingsley Desserts and Gourmandises, Sing Sing Rabbit, Monchhichi, Morning Star Travel and Teriaura.
Premium Japanese fruits Hong Kong distributor, Kingsley Desserts and Gourmandises, who is famous for producing desserts with official IP license rights, will partner with Lan Kwai Fong to set up a Monchhichi pop-up booth. Monchhichi will make special appearance at the pop-up. An exclusive series of Monchhichi collaborated merchandise will be offered during the pop-up to whet the appetite of Monchhichi fans.
Kingsley Desserts and Gourmandises will also bring authentic and unique Japanese desserts such as white pudding and milk crepe from Hokkaido, as well as apple pie from Aomori at six renowned dining hotspots exclusively in Lan Kwai Fong. This includes Cali-Mex, FUMI, Kyoto Joe, Los Sotano, Tokio Joe and Porterhouse from 8th October to 16th November.
Other highlights including the merchandise and collections produced by Sing Sing Rabbit, a Hong Kong-based masked cartoon singer that debuted in Japan; exclusive deals offered at the Morning Star Travel booth; high quality Japanese pearl jewellery showcased at the Teriaura pop-up booth.
Apart from the LKF Cool Japan Pop-up at California Tower, the Japan street carnival will return this year during the weekend of 10 to 11 November. As part of the âHong Kong Great November Feastâ campaign hosted by Hong Kong Tourism Board and âJapan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong â" Rediscovering Nippon â" 2018â campaign, hosted by Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong, Lan Kwai Fong will be turned into a spectacular Japanese Matsuri market.
Over 40 booths will be featured in the carnival with an extensive collection of Japanese sake and Shochu and distinct Japanese delicacies from different prefectures in Japan, including A5 Wagyu, Japanese Grilled scallops, Gyoza and more. Visitors can engage in the celebration filled with interactive game booths, Yukata try on experience, traditional Japanese stage performance and live band performances.
